The holidays between Dashain and Tihar saw me, along with a group of 32 people from a health organization called Nirogdham, pack our rucksacks and take off for an 11-day trek to Langtang-Kyanjing-Gosainkunda. It so happened that my sister was going on a college trip to India at the same time. This ensued a heated argument between us sisters about who would get to take the camera which I eventually won after pointing out that almost all her friends would have a camera and I would be going with my grannies in their sixties who would love to have their pictures taken on an adventurous journey. It was an argument I am glad I won, because I brought with me a lot of pictures, not only of my grannies and the other people on the trip, but of the omnipresent nature, both the landscape views and the macro shots.

I have been told by a lot of people that I am nothing short of obsessed when it comes to taking macro shots, those are close up pictures of objects. My friends have got tired of waiting up for me during hikes. They prefer to walk ahead while I get the perfect shot of whichever object has captured my fascination then, and catch up to them later on. This trip was no different with me almost always the last one to reach the destination. The person responsible to round up the whole crew had to shepherd me all the way, warning that we were lagging behind. During trips like these, people usually look out far beyond the hills and the mountains and marvel at their majestic beauty. I did too. But my fascination with the smaller object around stood. They showed me their colours and their shapes, the violet lines, white circles, yellow ellipses, purple horns and whatnot's. This collection is a small but the best part of this very fascination of mine.

श्रृङ्गारमा फुल : बिशेषगरी महिलाहरूले फुललाई कपालमा सिउरीने चलन रहेको छ ।

Wild Forest Flower

Rough around the edges but a tender center
This is my wild forest flower
Short and slender with long flowing blonde hair
This is my wild forest flower
A loving heart that goes beyond what I can see
This is my wild forest flower

I want to hold my flower in my hands
Wondering why she holds back and refuses to stand
I water it every now and then to watch it grow
But it takes too long because it’s a little slow
So I wait patiently for the flower to begin to rise
Even though I can still hear the weeping willows cries

Firm and hard headed but with a loving touch
This is my wild forest flower
Always hiding and always scared like a little child
This is my wild forest flower
The only one im willing to be with anymore
This is my wild forest flower

A darkened hush rises in the sky above my flower
The roots slowly exposing themselves out of fear
A forest fire begins in the distance soon to consume it
The fire rages ready to consume the small thing in power
This little bitty flower that I love and hold so dear
but I laugh because I know how this fire got lit

                                                                          बाँकी अन्य भागमा....
